Faruk Bajric is a Bosnian-Canadian, born in Banja Luka, in 1939. He got his nickname Vrbaslija from the river Vrbas that runs through his birth city. Verbas gets its name from the Bosnian word vrba, meaning "willow". Weeping willow trees adorn the river banks in Banja Luka.
Faruk enjoys reading & writing about history, religion, philosophy and foreign politics. He is a regular guest on Toronto Bosnian BiH Radio, with his weekly history reports and wise sayings . He's very active in his community, enjoys time with his grandchildren, traveling with his wife Alma, his summers at his trailer in Muskoka, and doing just about anything he possibly can for his 3 daughters.
Faruk's hope it to bring awareness to many topics he's passionate about, and he's been doing so for years with his and community daily facebook posts. When he eventually needed to send a very long document in a link format, he knew that he finally had to create a website!
